DESCRIPTION

This product is a low cost blood chemistry instrument. The analytical system is a bi-chromatic filter spectrometer. Filter sets are user replaceable by changing a filter block inserted into the side of the instrument. The instrument has a bar code reader to read calibration information included in the test kits.

Blood is added to micro strips that are packaged with reagents in the test kit. Reagents are pre-calibrated and the calibration coefficients are printed on a bar coded strip that is included also. The bar code and micro strip are slid into a carrier and the carrier is swiped through a slot in the top of the instrument. This allows the instrument to simultaneously read the bar coded calibration coefficients and bi-chromatically scan the micro strip wells. The result is displayed on an LCD screen.
